Le Tour De France

Bonjour

How many of you are Le Tour de France fans? Ray and l have watched it each night, granted not always to the end and on some nights we have had a snooze during it, it usually begins in Australia at around 10.00pm and we both have work the next day.

But tonight it begins a little earlier and it is a big night for Cadel Evans, the Aussie who is 8 seconds behind the leader. Apparently he should perform well in this part of the tour. (You may have noticed that after 2 weeks of watching Le Tour my French has not improved at all!)

Another job ticked off.....

I have just registered our trip, my details  with Smart Traveler. So that is something else that can be crossed off the list. Thank goodness my 2 IC Bronny has been around to organise this trip. Every one needs a Bronwyn!

Camp Snippets.....Massages

Last year we had a lady ask if she could come and do  massages at Quilt Camp. There were neck massages, hand massages and back massages. When l let everyone know these were on offer they soon booked out.

You should have seen the girl's as they came back to the work room. They sort of floated into the room  with big smiles on their faces.

Needless to say, massages will be offered again at Spring Camp. They are not compulsory, they are an indulgence really. Oh but what a wonderful treat!

A question..... or 2 really

Tonight Bron and l got together to do a little more planning for our trip to the States in October. We know where we are going to be and now we need some input from those who read the blog. We plan to visit some quilt shops while we are over there, l know l am stating the obvious,but...

And this is where you come into it. We are going to be in the following places - San Francisco, Boston, New York and Pennsylvania. If any readers have a favourite shop in any of these areas pleeeeease let us know. We would love to visit. And while l'm at it, purchasing an antique quilt is high on my list of things to do. If anyone can suggest a place where we might be able to do this l would love to hear from you too.

Warm Fuzzies.....Betz White

Warm Fuzzies is filled with more than 30 cute and colourful projects made from wool jumpers/ sweaters. There is something to make for everybody- kids, grownups and even the family dog.

Camp Snippets.....Dear Jane

One of the activities we offer at Quilt Camp is Dear Jane. It's simple, buy 5 small gifts , each to the value of $2 or thereabouts. Wrap each one. When we arrive at camp those who are taking part in Dear Jane are given a name. All those attending camp are then presented with their name badges. This gives you an opportunity to find out who your Dear Jane is.

Throughout the rest of the weekend you have to secretly deliver your gifts to your Dear Jane. At morning tea on Sunday you are introduced to your Dear Jane.

It's  a little bit of fun that everyone seems to enjoy. Camp begins on Friday 12th of September. Let me know if you and a couple of friends would like to attend. Of course even if you'd like to come along on your own you are most welcome, the ladies who have signed up are lovely.

With Needle and Thread.....The Birdhouse

Got 2 copies of With Needle and Thread,  the newie from the Birdhouse today.

And it's full of projects that would suit a quilter/ stitcher down to the ground. The book includes a quilt, a clock, yes a clock - perfect for the sewing room. A sewing bag, a table runner. There's pincushions and a scissor keep. I'm sure there are other things. There's also a wall hanging which Natalie must have designed about me- the stitching angel- heee, heee, heee.

I know this is going to be a popular book, why? Because l have already sold the two copies that arrived today. Don't let that stop you though, l am placing an order for more tonight.

Spring Camp.....

Just want to let you know a little about Spring Camp over the next few days. The thing that seems to interest most people, especially quilters is the food. Spring Camp is a foodies paradise.

We begin with a finger food supper, oodles of yummy bits and pieces. All too nice to pass up. This is followed by some very yummy cakes, and l mean very yummy.

On the Saturday Jenny and Garry take over. And they feed us, and they feed us and then they feed us some more. Breakfast is followed by morning tea, which is followed by lunch, which is followed by Happy Hour, which is followed by dinner and we end the day with a light supper. Next day we begin again.

The only complaint we received from one person was there was too much. But l helped clear the tables and believe me there wasn't too much left on plates.

Error.....

Just a quick note to all the Cyber stitchers. I was organising a kit for Gail Pan's Pattern Latte which you receieved in your kit. We have noticed 2 errors. There needs to be an additional lot of fabric for the blocks, Gail used the border fabric. The border fabric should measure 75cm, not 60cm as mentioned on the pattern.

Cyber Shop Hop.....

I have just had an email from Karen, one of the Cyber Stitchers. She has suggested that we have a Cyber Shop Hop. This would involve shops from around the world making a block available to blog readers. Each shop would have a block that reflects their shop. Mrs Martin's would be the Aussie shop.

And now this is where you ladies come into it. If you have a favourite shop near you who you think might be interested just email me their details and l will get in touch with them. This shouldn't take long to organise. As soon as l have more details l will let you know.

Thanks so much Karen for your idea, l love it. If any one else has an idea that they would like to see happen please just email me.
