I have just been flicking through the Fourth Book of the Victorian Readers, second edition of course. Do you remember the poem Five Eyes by Walter de la Mare. I can remember my Grade 4 teacher Mrs Skogly making us recite this poem. It went like this.....
In Hans old mill his three black cats, watched the bins for thieving rats. Whisker and claw they crouch at night,Their five eyes smouldering green and bright. And it goes on.
It's time to drag myself back into 2007. l am heading off to Rhys Meyers 21st birthday. I taught Rhys when he was in Prep! All those years ago l threatened my preppies l would come to their 21st birthdays, weddings etc. Little did they know l meant it! Happy birthday to you Rhys.
