The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Just a reminder that our scissor sharpening man comes on August 11. If you want any scissors, knives, gardening tools or other tools such as chisels sharpened they need to be dropped off at the shop by 10 August.
One of my customers (the people you know!) has an olive grove and she's just pressed her first crop of olives (I have no idea if l am using the correct terms here). She's selling it in 375 ml bottles and I've bought one. Haven't had a chance to taste it yet but will let you know when l do. It's used for dipping, not cooking.
If any one's interested there are some bottles under the counter.
Yippee, l am a couple of days early. This isn't meant to come out until August 1st. But hey, what can l say. For some reason l am very organised. Which is worrying me. What have l forgotten? Anyway, back to the block. Visit the 6 inch Sampler Album for the instructions.
Yesterday Ros from Oz, one of my customers who has become a friend came to Sewing Circle. As always Ros brought Show and Tell. She's one very busy lady and churns out finished projects like you wouldn't believe.
Recently she bought up a quilt that needed the bindings stiotched. She'd bought a panel and it featured pics of famous operas. During our conversation l mentioned that Ray goes to the opera. sadly he goes on his own, it's not my cup of tea.
So amongst Ros's Show and Tell yesterday was the completed Opera Quilt. She handed it over along with a card and said this is a gift for Ray.
I took it home and presented it to him. He was speechless. The card thanked him for supporting me in the shop and helping to organise our stitching days and quilt camps. He couldn't believe her generosity. We are going to hang the quilt in his study, his version of the blokes shed.
I have had several ladies email and offer to send Ruth a gift from the list for her Christmas in July Swap. Ruth has read the blog and is very touched by your kindness. So a big thank you from me. To be honest it doesn't surprise me that there are people who have offered to help out. I have found Patchworkers, or should l say Crafters to be very generous people.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
The shop will be closed during that time.
