The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
You may or may not have noticed there is a wedding about to happen tomorrow.
I think Australia should be a republic and so l am not interested in much that the Royals get up to. Our television and the papers have been full of wedding stuff which l am trying to ignore. But the other night l found myself watching A Current Affair on tele, couldn't help myself
. I watched Charles and Diana get married. I watched Diana's funeral. I am working tomorrow night but the shop tele will be tuned in so we can catch a glimpse of Will and Kate.
To my friends over in the States, is the wedding getting any coverage over your side of the world?
Just got a parcel of felted wool. There's Muddy Day- Herringbone, Dirty Sneakers and Chocolate Log- Hounds tooth and Caramel Sauce. 5" squares are $2 and 10" squares are $8.00. Can't wait to use them in a project.
.....has come to an end. Mrs Martin's reopens tomorrow. I have had a lovely break. Have spent a full 10 days with Ray, it's been a long time since we've done that and we're still both smiling.
Said the other day that l hadn't got much sewing done. Well since then l have achieved a few things. I been doing some to my Double Wedding Ring wall hanging. I have pieced together the 4 patch blocks for my small quilt - Orange Peel from the Remembering Adelia book. Have made the 2 needle keeps i showed you in the earlier post. I've worked an embroidered letter from one of Kathy Schmitz designs and have started embroidering another one of her samples. I am pretty happy with that.
Hope you've had a nice Easter break and managed to get a few things done.
Is a pattern from Marg Low. There are instructions for needle cases for all occasions - 9 in all. Can be made in about 2 hours, take a look at the couple l made over the break. I've used felt and wool. Love working in both.
I'll pop the pattern and details in the Marg Low Album tomorrow. Cost is $16.90.
Today is ANZAC Day. It's a time for us to remember all those who have lost or risked their lives to make Australia the wonderful country that it is today. I have just watched the news - interviews with veterans, watching them march down Swanston St, the last post being played at the dawn service. It's all very moving.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
The shop will be closed during that time.
