May you fly your flags high and wear your Aussie paraphernalia (you know all that stuff that's found in the $2 shops thoughout the country) proudly.
We decorated the deck.
Gum leaves and flags made a pretty table centre.
But the centre of attention was Sybil.
Each year 12 of us get together on the eve of Australia Day. It's a very relaxed time of the year, everything has calmed down after the Christmas rush. The teachers in the group and there are a few, are just getting ready to head back to work. They weren't asked to but every one brought a plate so the food was yummy. Just finger food. But l have to say the most popular thing on the menu were the ice cream sundaes. And how easy were they to do.
I'd made a raspberry coulis and a chocolate sauce. There were strawberries, crushed violet crumbles, cut up Turkish delight and choice of scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream. I was a bit worried with all the food that no one would be interested. They were make your own, everyone had everything, They were like a bunch of kids as they they made their sundaes and you could have heard a pin drop as they ate them. Will definitely be doing that dessert again. Might even remember to put the sliced bananas and the crushed nuts out next time.
sounds like a lot of fun Karen.xx

Great idea! We used that same dessert idea at our Year 6 graduation. The kids loved it and so easy to prepare!
