The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Arrived today from Theodora Cleave. There are a couple of bunny families in amongst the buttons. You could include them in a little Easter story by stitching them to felt and adding a decorative garden around them. Maybe you could stitch that using the new Cottage Garden Threads. Check them out.
Went down to visit Pam the lady behind Cottage Garden Thread. I brought home the stand and chose the 64 threads that will fill it. I have started putting them on the web site, Cottage Garden Threads has its own album. They should be here in time for the Monbulk Community Quilt Show - Saturday 17th of March.
Speaking about the quilt show. My contact at Cadbury's has just delivered a bag of chocolates to go in the show bags. Fingers crossed l don't eat them all before the show. They are in my office, l can smell them as l write this post.
What's happening at the show? Libby the lady behind A Girl's Day Out will be demonstrating her fabric painting. We'll be taking bookings for the class she is doing for me in May on the day. Viv from Viv's Creations will show you how to raw edge applique, we may offer a class if there's enough interest. And Lisa from Fig n Berry Creations will run you through some embroidery stitches.
Also got some yummy new bfabric in today, so will try to share that with you before the night is over.
Found this little saying today......It takes a dreamer to change the world. I think until it hurts, always got a million ideas running around my head. May not change the whole world maybe l can make a bit of a difference to my world and the people in it.
Gosh those chocolates smell good.....
Thanks to Michelle for putting the Winding Ways link up on her blog. Much appreciated.
The Friday night Sewing Circle girls had their first bowling lesson the Friday just gone. My friend Eric organised another mate to help him coach the 6 of us. Don't blame him for wanting some backup.
I learned stacks. They are not balls, they are bowls. We play on a green or a rink. You don't throw it with the gusto you do when you go ten pin bowling. Learned that one very early on, my first bowl flew down the green and wedged into the gutter. When a bolwer dies their leave their bowls to the bowling club they belong to them. There was a whole room filled to the brim withs sets of bowls.
We sat down while the boys explained a bit about the terchnique. We sarted our lesson at 5.00pm, 38C that day, so the condtions were harsh.
Connie and Leanne, sitting and listening in the only bit of shade available.
Andrew who is Monbulk's skip (best player in the club plays that role from what l gather) spending a bit of time with Connie. It soon became obvious that he favoured Sue and Rosemary, the two blondes in the group, maybe because he was blonde, who knows. Poor Eric got stuck with the other 4 of us.
These two were Andrew's favs, spent a lot of time with them. Maybe because Sue had decked herself out in all white. Bowlers looove white.
This was my closest shot, bowl whatever you'd like to call it. I wasn't fantastic at the game but l wasn't that bad, in fact l have been a lot worse at other sports that l have attempted.
If you ever get a chance have a go. Members at the local bolws clubs will probably be pleased to give you a quick lesson.
Thought you might to know a little more about Winding Ways. Basically it's a shop hop involving a cluster of 5 shops. It runs throughout the whole month of May...... a great time because the weather is pleasant and you have had time to get over Christmas and the start of a new year.
Want to know more, you'll just have to keep coming back for snippets.
What you can do though is gather together a carload of friends and set some dates aside. You would easily manage the 5 shops in a day but you may not want to. For instance when you visit Mrs Martin' Qilt Shop there are plenty of other things to see in the area.
When l started the Christmas Angel Swap a lovely Angel offered to have her husband create a button to advertise the swap. Would that lovely lady email me, l would love her husband to create a button for Winding Ways.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
The shop will be closed during that time.
