By now you should know that l like to celebrate everything. We had our traditional Australia Day Eve here last night with friends. Ray and l have hosted this for a number of years, it's always the same thing, good food - everyone brings a plate, a couple of drinks and some Aussie music in the background. And of course we end up watching the last part of whatever game is being played at the Australian Open. Every one wears a little bit of something that has Australia written on it.
I have a box of decs l have collected over a couple of years that l put out just to create a bit atmosphere. It's simple but fun.
We'll start at the front of the house. They always produce head bands to celebrate things. Did you realise they fit onto a letter box.
The front door, an oversized badge. Simple but effective.
50 Shades wore this, but refused to have a pic taken, apparently he doen't like being the butt of my jokes.
A vase of gum leaves, small flags and balloons.
A blue quilt on the table and more flags in a beer bottle that's in a stubbie holder. Doesn't get more Strayn than that. Look through the window and you'll see bunting on the deck. It was rather windy last night so that got a bit tangled.
There's even a splash of red, white and blue in the loo.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oi, oi.
Have a fabulous Australia Day friends.
