Went and had an echo cardiogram done this morning.
This is how the visit went..... Young woman tells me "It's an ultrasound, just like you have when you're having a baby." Had to think hard, was that an internal examination? No, it wasn't.
Take clothes off from waist up and lay on the table. I am 55, the breasts are no longer perky and kind of droop, hang over, whatever you want to call it. That's not a good look and l was a little self conscious about that.
Next she wants to know how tall and how heavy l am. Told her l was tall and overweight. Not precise enough apparently. So l estimated about 5'8". She kept asking about weight and then asked me to estimate, couldn't believe l didn't know. Told her to estimate and add some kilos. Also informed her that only skinny people weighed themselves. Really if it was that important would have thought they'd have scales.
She started the test and all was fine and then there was a strange noise, she explained that was the heart beat. Sounded very loud to me, l explained that l had recently been to a Keith Urban concert and was still recovering hence the loud heart beat. Took a bit of a look at the scan, wish l hadn't. There seemed to be a white bit flapping around, don't know if that's normal.
While l was dressing l mentioned that the last time l was pregnant and had a scan was 27 years ago. She was amazed that they were doing scans that long ago and even more amazed that l also had a scan when l was pregnant with 29 year old Tom. That shocked her, she was astounded when l told her we also had electricity and coloured TV back in those days.
Have a brilliant day.

I lost faith in her when she clearly could not understand the Tremendous heart Stopping impact of Keith and why he would cause Extreme Palpitations. Which part of your body can you never wash again because He touched you? .....sigh.....lucky you!
