The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Got my Easter decs up last week, including bunny ears on the letter box. There's rabbits in the loo and some resting on window ledges.
We had the family over for lunch yesterday. I cooked up way more than we needed, why? We'll eat left overs all weekend. It's a little like a restaurant, what would you like tonight? We have just eaten vegetarian lasagne. Ray mentioned this could become my signature dish. I reckon only people like me who don't cook very often have signature dishes. I tend to cook the same thing over and over. People who love cooking are more creative and never repeat a dish, therefore no signature dish.
I am known as the lazy quilter, l am also the lazy cook.
Side tracked again, just wanted to wish you a very happy Easter no matter what you do to celebrate. For me it's a chance to get the extended family together again, only happens a couple of times a year.
At sewing circle last week one of the girls told how she'd cleaned out her wardobe the week before under the guidance of her daughter. Apparently Simone was ruthless. A couple of us who haven't got daughters asked if we could hire her.
Got me thinking, so today l made a start. Rearranged drawers and then started sorting. Each year l buy basic black tops for work, never throw the oldies out. There is also a possibility that they could be breeding and that's another reason l have so many. Have also decided that although l love black l am going to inroduce a bit of colour to my life. I have been very strong and now there is a big bag to drop off at the Op Shop on Tuesday. I now have a bit of room in my wardrobe and a squillion spare coat hangers.
It's been a long day. Ray's family and a couple of friends came for lunch. So that meant lots of cooking last night and a busy day today just making sure everything was just so... By the time everyone had gone and we tidied up l was feeling a little tired so had a nana nap on the couch. Woke about an hour or so ago and have been watching the Good Friday Appeal. Have just had a dose of Brian Cadd and The Bootleg Family Band, such fun, l still know all the words to Your Mama Can't Dance.
Gotta go, he's about to sing Gingerman and l know the words to that too.
I hadn't heard of this event until recently. I may have my facts wrong but l'll share what l know. It's a motor bike ride that starts in Perth and finishes in Melbourne. There are a group of local blokes taking part. My neighbour called in to show me this quilt yesterday. Her niece made it to celebrate the event. Participants will sign it and then the quilt will be auctioned at a dinner, money raised is going to prostate cancer. If l have my facts wrong please feel free to correct me.
Fingers crossed this quilt will be on display at our quilt show next year.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
