We set aside Sunday night to see the lights of Paris. Rather than wandering the streets we booked a bus tour which was by far the best way of making sure we didn't miss anything.
One of the nice things about the tour was that because we'd saved this for the end of the visit we were familiar with most of the places we passed.
During the almost 2 hour trip we saw everything. The city is beautiful during the day but truly magnificent at night.
Won't bore you with all the details BUT Avenue Champs Des Élysées which is 2 kilometres long is tres magnifique, the most loved street in Paris was alive - street performances, people eating out, traffic everywhere. Heading towards Arc de Triomphe at night with all that going on was....... special to say the least.
But what was even more beautiful was the Eiffel Tower. Amazing during the day but ooo la la ..... at night!!!!! We got glimpses of the tower throughout the night, hard to miss, it stands 300m and of course is lit up to within an inch of its life. But eventually the bus parked next to the base of the tower and it was truly beautiful, cameras on the bus were clicking at a furious rate. Then at one point the light show started, more lights flashing on and off. That memory will stay with me forever. I even got a peck on the cheek.... In front of the the Eiffel Tower....at night..... in the city of love. Not like you 50 Shades!!!
