The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
But think l am almost on top of things. All packed and heading down to set up for the Waverley Quilt Show which is on Saturday and Sunday.
I have also been working on kits for the show at Jeff's Shed at the end of June. I am going to post some pics next week so that you know what l have been up to.
The dishwasher died last Saturday, we have had a dishwasher for the last 15 years. I can't believe how much l miss it and how much time it takes to knock over the dishes. Hopefully 50 Shades will go down and pick up a new one tomorrow.
I want to share a newie from Kathy Schmitz next week so make sure you come back and pay me a visit.
Those of you who have visited Mrs Martin's know that you wander down through the garage to get to the shop. Yesterday we had some cafe blinds installed so now we can close it off. It's like having an extra room, so l am going to make use of the space and have a bit of a Garage Sale during Winding Ways.
There'll be half price patterns, some fabric that has been marked down and some samples at good prices and other bits.
This all starts on Monday June 2nd.
Just a reminder, we will be open 9 til 4 Monday - Friday and 9.00 til 3 on Saturdays during Winding Ways.
If you only want to visit 2 or 3 shops each day then that's fine too. You might like to do a spot of shopping in the local towns. My shop is between Monbulk and Emerald, lot's to see and do in both towns. I must admit l know Monbulk better than Emerald.
I will have a list of places you might like to visit when you come to Mrs Martin's, the other shops may do the same, l know that Sewing Connection did last year. I'll pop my sheet in the Winding Ways Album as soon as l have fine tuned it. You are welcome to print it off or collect a copy when you are here.
I have a great little nursery nearby, so you might like to pop a box and some plastic bags in the car for plants. Or maybe and esky with some ice coolers in it. The Monbulk butcher has some yummy prepared meals, just pop in the oven, they'll tell you how long for. Who wants to put together a meal after a day out on the road?
Winding Way can be done in one day but you might like to take a bit of time to plan how you are going to do it.
I suggest you leave your closest shop as your last, that way if you don't get to all shops on the one day then you haven't got that far to go to finish off.
Check the times each of the shops are open, times do vary, you don't want to get to the last shop and discover it closed earlier than you anticipated
Pack snacks, lunch and water, hard to enjoy yourself if you are hungry. You can eat on the road while you are getting to the next shop. If you visit Mrs Martin's there is a toilet available, a place to sit and eat and the urn will be on. In fact the urn is alays on, sit down catch your breathe and enjoy a cuppa.
Please note, if you are coming to Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop and you are using a GPS do not go down any dirt roads if that what it suggests. The main roads will get you here.....Wellington Rd, Burwood Hwy. Emerald Monbulk Rd, Monbulk Belgrave Rd. It's that simple.
We are on the Monbulk Emerald Rd, about 4 km from Safeway in Emerald and about 6 km from the Monbulk Primary School, straight down David Hill Rd to the end.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
The shop will be closed during that time.
