The question on everyone's lips..... I love ric rac and sell it in all colours and sizes, my fav would have to be the linen ric rac. Have never known how you measure the width of the different ric racs until now.
Great to use when doing embroidery, simply run through your printer, press onto your background fabric and start stitching.
Then simply remove by submerging in warm water, agitate for 2 - 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Had a lady chasing quilt labels today. I don't stock them as l never seem to have the right one. Started making my own years ago. I shared it with her and now l am sharing with you.
Take 2 strips of fabric, a plain to write on and a pattern of your choice, Sew them together. Iron vliesofix on the back. Choose a cookie cutter from your collection. I don't do much baking so it's lovey to finally put my collection of cutters to good use. I chose a house because the shop is at our home, so it's perfect. The quilt you are making the label for might dictate the cutter you choose.
On the back of the 2 strips of fabric that you have joined trace around the cookie cutter and cut out. (You will be tracing on the back of the vliesofix). Write what you like on the front of the label, peel the back off the vliesofix and iron your label onto your quilt. Then blanket stitch around the outside of the shape.
I make as many as l can from the strips of fabric l have sewn together. So that there is always a label ready when l complete a project.
Mrs Martin's Quilt Sop will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday July 21st), there is work being done on the power lines so we will be without power. The shop will be dark and cold and more importantly the EFTPOS machine will not work.
March, April, May Calendar I am away from Saturday April 15th until Monday May 8th. going on a road trip with seven other ladies from Chicago to Nashville. Along the way there will be a quilt shop or 2 and 4 days at the Paducah Quilt Market. I will be posting my adventures on the blog and Facebook.
