An antique quilt or perhaps two.
Ray if you are reading this you may like to skip the rest of this story. Have always thought l would love and antique quilt, there doesn't seem to be too many bargains in Australia so decided l would keep an eye out while l was on this trip.
We are staying in a little town called Berlin Ohio. It's a small town, mainly tourists and surrounded by farms, Amish farms in fact. This morning we set out to introduce ourselves to the locals.
Visited a couple of shops and chatted and browsed. We were wandering around the 3rd shop and l noticed a couple of quilts folded one on top of the other. Unfolded them and found one that had 8 pointed star blocks, with a pink border. The blocks had been tied and the rest of the quilt was hand quilted. The quilter had used feed sacks for the star blocks. It looks like a queen size quilt and l snapped it up for US$99.00. So l bought it.
Then a couple of shops later we walked into a huge building full of small stalls, Right in the foyer was a lovely double weeding ring quilts, again about queenside. Couldn't find the price so asked. Shop assistant checked for me and it was $100 as well. I did a happy dance and said sold.
Another successful day in the office.
